How and where we search is changing.
More of us are using chatbots, AI chat LLMs, and social networks to find information and answers.
The questions or key phrases we put into a search experience are getting longer and are we're creating detailed threads of questions with much richer context.
All of this is training us to expect better answers. Which means our expectations of answers from a human are going to go up.
Some ways to possible solve this.
Create a tool that takes all of your product and solution content and documentation and allows salespeople and customer service folks to use it to get answers quickly before and during calls.
Better and more frequent training. Companies are usually underinvesting in employee upskilling and training. I think this is about to change.
Hiring needs to change. You need to find people who are critical thinkers, love learning, and care deeply about customer experience. The smartest person is no longer probably the right type of hire for most GTM roles.
Overall, I suspect expectations of businesses will continue to go up as people use more free tools that give us better and better outcomes and results.
It's time to play offense.
