Perception Management

A lot of what we do when trying to turn a person into a customer is perception management.

Perception is half the battle.

According to wikipedia. "Perception is the organization, identification, and interpretation of sensory information in order to represent and understand the presented information or environment."

A lot of what we do when trying to turn a person into a customer is perception management.

How we sell.

What we say.

What we promise.

How the brand looks.

How the brand sounds.

Are all things that we can use to manage perception. Are brands better at managing and influencing perception or are people? I would have to say people.

Another reason why businesses need to be leveraging relationships and partnership to influence buyers and customers.

Here are some ways to manage perception. Remember to use the tactics for good purposes, not evil.

Be present.

Tell stories.

Do research.

Reciprocate.

Be consistent.

Share examples.

Listen more than you talk.

The bottomline is how people perceive your brand, your product and your company is going to be a huge factor if they end up buying or renewing.

Perception influences and activates your feelings and emotions.

What we buy and why comes down to how we feel and perceive things.
