Content Channel Fit

You work so hard to create an amazing piece of content.

You do the right audience research.

You plan it, research the topic, create it, edit it.

And then it's time to share it with the world. But you don't get the response you were hoping. Even though you know the piece of content is excellent.

What gives?

You might have forgotten an important step in the content planning process.

Channel fit and positioning.

Outlining what channel(s) is best suited for the type of content you're creating and how to best position it for each channel.

This requires you to think through how you would repackage the content for different channels.

Meaning, maybe you take a short chapter out of an eBook for LinkedIn and then ask people to leave a comment of 'book' for them to get the full link.

Because you're not going to publish the whole book on LinkedIn and you're not going to just do a promotional post about it. They just don't work well.

So when writing a brief for a new piece of content, make sure to plan the channels and how you will position and package it for each channel
